We rule this RPG with an iron first, our word is law!!...Well, not really. But if you want to become a respected member of the group, you should abide by these guidelines.

Applying.

  • The council is very strict on admitting applications, so don't apply unless your application is the best it can be. It helps if you've had roleplay or writing experience, especially for Weiß Kreuz. When you're new to the roleplay world it shows in your application.
  • READ THE RULES COMPLETELY. And once you're done with this, read the intro and the members section if you haven't already. You might even want to read the archives to see how our roleplay sessions go.
  • Do NOT apply if you DON'T HAVE TIME TO ROLEPLAY. We really don't have the time or patience to deal with people who won't keep up with posts or have a talent for vanishing without a trace. Ask yourself this question: do you have enough free time, and is your Internet life stable enough that you can read posts everyday and post at least three times a week? If not, then this isn't the RPG for you.
  • DON'T APPLY FOR A CHARACTER THAT'S ALREADY TAKEN. It's just a... really stupid thing to do. And it happens. So don't do it.
  • ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS FULLY. Answer every question in full sentences and don't leave anything blank. Even if a question doesn't apply to your character, write N/A or explain why it does not apply. Don't just omit questions. Your questions should also be as detailed as possible. One-word answers are not acceptable and could get your application rejected. One paragraph personalities and histories are also a BIG no no.
  • If you're applying for a canon (character in the Weiß Kreuz series) character, KNOW YOUR INFORMATION. Most of the characters have actual birthdays, bloodtypes, specific likes and dislikes, etc. Don't just make things up because you don't know. However, it's all right to add on to areas to enhance your character. There are some questions in the application that haven't been answered in the anime; you're free to invent any history or personality details that aren't in the anime. But don't replace your description for already canon information just because you like your version better.
  • The only original characters allowed in the RPG are those that belong to Versenkbar. Check the application page for Versenkbar's application status.
  • BALANCE YOUR CHARACTERS. Make sure they have a balanced amount of strengths and weaknesses. Your character should not be unbeatable, but nor should s/he be completely vulnerable.
  • NO FANTASY OR OCCULT. This means no vampires, no ghosts or people who can talk to ghosts, no magical powers, or anything of the sort. If you must use far out devices, stay on the scientific end. Psychological and mental powers, mutations, etc. are okay, but WITHIN REASON. We reserve the right to reject anything questionable. Remember, this is Weiß Kreuz, not X, and certainly not Dracula 2000. We want to keep the storyline as realistic as possible.
  • With so many characters we're starting to run out of weapons and powers, but TRY not to use anything that another character already has. If you don't know the other characters' weapons and talents, check out the members section. All of this should be WITHIN REASON. If your character has more weaponry than s/he can physically carry, or powers that make it invincible against all other characters, you're likely to be rejected.
  • NO GODMODING. You CANNOT write for another person's character in your history or writing sample unless you ask that character's player, first. If the character you need to substitute in doesn't have a player... then tough luck. The point of this application is to write about your character's life, not someone else's. We know that some characters are just so closely knit that it's hard to write about one without including the other... but it's not impossible. However, it's perfectly okay if you want yours and another character to have some sort of past affiliation or current relationship, AS LONG AS YOU ASK THE PLAYER FIRST. Just e-mail dirpg(a)hotmail.com with the request and be CLEAR on what you want to do.
  • If you haven't seen the Weiß Kreuz series, WATCH IT. And we don't just mean a few episodes, either; the entire series. This RPG takes place after the anime and the drama albums. It's nice if you've read/listened to the drama albums too, but knowing the anime is crucial. A lot of people have been rejected because their applications have shown inaccurate information... and don't think we can't tell if you don't know who Omi's real father is, or that Schuldig's the only Schwarz member that can speak telepathically. WATCH THE SERIES.
  • SPELLCHECK YOUR APPLICATION. If we find spelling and grammatical errors, it will affect your rating. We should at the very least be able to read your application. If you're in doubt, have a friend proof it for you. But if your English is really that bad, you probably shouldn't apply.
  • Once your application is received, you should get a response within two days. However, if you don't, calmly e-mail us to see what's up. Don't send your application a billion times or flame us, or we'll probably reject you before we read the app. Once your application enters the review process, WAIT. Honestly, we never forget about apps, and you will eventually hear from us.
  • Tip: If you're worried about messing up, go to the members section and look at the character profiles. Almost all of these are the actual applications that were accepted for the characters. See how we answered questions, then you'll know how to answer yours.

Playing.

  • READ ALL POSTS. Just because another player's post has nothing to do with yours doesn't mean you shouldn't read it. You expect everyone to read your posts, right? You should give the other players that same respect. Additionally, information in other posts may become important later on. CONSTANT VIGILANCE! (...sorry...)
  • Players should post as often as possible, but our minimum is one post every two weeks. However, if you're keeping up with the game, you should never fall below that minimum.
  • VISIT THE FORUM. It's important that you stay active in the forum, as that's where we post important information. If you don't visit the forum at least once a week, you might miss something important. If you get bored with it, you can always start your own threads. We enjoy mindless banter. :P
  • NO GODMODING. The same principle as in the application. Don't move or speak for another person's character without permission.
  • KEEP IT CLEAN. We don't want to censor players, and we certainly can't control characters' emotions. For the most part you're on your own, but be tasteful in your actions. Gratuitous violence, sex and excessive vulgarity is just... nasty. Don't do it.
  • We work on a three-strikes system. Screw up three times, and you're out.
